Successful Kindergarten Students - Getting ready for First Grade

• Limit TV, video games and computer time
• Read EVERY day with your child
• Talk to your child - ask them lots of questions - get them thinking!
• Growing bodies and brains need lots of sleep and healthy food!
• Practice the skills learned at school.  Skills not practiced at home are soon forgotten. 
• Be a mathematician!  Always be adding, subtracting, and solving mathematical problems.
• Give back to the community.  Lend a helping hand.
• Be curious!  Ask why? how? Explore!
• Be a writer!  Write stories.  Write a blog.  Write about a favorite topic.  Write letters to family and friends.
• Always try your very best!
